<b><i>Background/Aims:</i></b> Mutations of the short stature homeobox-containing <i>(SHOX)</i> gene on the pseudoautosomal region of the sex chromosomes cause short stature. GH treatment has been recently proposed to improve height in short patients with SHOX deficiency.
